Chaibasa: A four member team led by Dr Ananta Singha, plastic surgeon from Dev Medical Ranchi organized a free medical camp for cleft lip and cleft palate at Sadar hospital in Chaibasa on Friday.
Around 450 patients were examined during the camp. On the occasion, Dr Ananta Singh said, cleft lip is found one in every three hundred children and cleft palate is found one in every eight hundred children. A total of twenty thousand children are victim of these problems in Jharkhand. Dev medical has treated and conducted successful operation on ten thousands children within ten years. Now Government has also come forward to help financially and each Sahiya are paid three hundred rupees per child. Dr Sinha further said that all 450 children which were diagnosed today will be provided with free fooding and lodging along with the up and down fare and medicine. The operation will also be conducted free of cost. The team comprised Dr Shabir Alam, Dr Rakesh Ranjan, Dr Shakshi Singh and others.
