Jamshedpur, Dec. 23: No COVID-19 death has been reported in the East Singhbhum district in the last 16 days as the death toll remains at 374. Active cases have also dropped below 200 mark in the district.
On Wednesday, East Singhbhum district reported 20 corona positive cases while 21 people recovered of the virus.
The new positives in Jamshedpur took the Coronavirus tally to 17384. 21 people recovered of the virus on Wednesday taking the total recovery to 16814 while total active cases in Jamshedpur are 196.
East Singhbhum district administration has conducted 167544 test per million in the district. The recovery rate in Jamshedpur is 97% while the mortality rate is 2.2 %.
So far in Jamshedpur 455690 samples have been collected out of which 446001 have been tested and 428617 have turned out to be negative.
On the other hand, the Covid-19 tally in the state on Wednesday reached to 1,13,609 as 202 cases of Covid-19 were detected across 20 districts of Jharkhand. During the day no death was reported from any district as a result of which the overall death count has reached to 1014. The mortality rate among the patients currently stands at 0.89 percent.
As per the information provided by the health department the number of active cases in the state was 1,633 while number of cured and discharged cases stood at 1,13,609. The total number of death caused by Coronavirus in the state stood at 1014. On Wednesday a maximum number of 82 cases were found in Ranchi followed by 24 Dhanbad, 20 in East Singhbhum, 16 in Ramgarh and 10 in Garhwa.
A total of number of 204 people were also cured and discharged from various dedicated Covid19 facilities during the day including 88 from Ranchi, 26 from Dhanbad, 21 from East Singhbhum, 15 from Bokaro and 9 from Hazaribagh. Despite the rampant rise in Coronavirus cases across the state the recovery rate of Covid-19 patients has improved significantly and has once gone above 97 percent mark to currently stand at 97.67 percent in Jharkhand. So far in the state 46,88,521 samples have been collected out of which 46,78,152 have been tested and 45,64,543 have turned out to be negative.
