
Jamshedpur, July 19: Jamshedpur Women�s Club defeated St. Thomas by 3 goals to 2 in the inaugural match of the maiden JSA Women�s Football League played at JRD Tata Sports Complex on Friday evening.
Suman Hembrom scored the first goal of the match in the 12th minute to take JWC in the lead. Soon Kalpana S Sardar netted one in the 19th minute to level for St. Thomas.

Rano Muni Murmu of JWC again scored in the 29th minute to take the team to 2-1 lead. Nikita Soren at 35 minutes made it 2-2 for St. Thomas. Mamta Hembram scored the winner for Jamshedpur Women�s Club in the 39th minute.

Earlier, the tournament was inaugurated Deepa Verma, Chief HRM, Tata Steel in presence of Ravi Radhakrishnan, Working President, JSA; Mukul Vinayak Choudhari, VP (JSA), S Zubair Alam, Chairman Football Sub Committee; Ashish Kumar; Head Sports; Avinash Kumar, Hony. Secretary, JSA and Biswajit Roy Choudhary who were introduced to the players.

One of the oldest Association Jamshedpur Sporting Association�in its 74 years old history has started this new initiative- JSA Women�s Football League on 19th July 2019 at JRD Tata Sports Complex. Girls aged 16 years and above are participating.
Total of 7 teams are participating in the tournament. All the matches will be played at JRD Tata Sports Complex. Two matches will be played on Saturday, July 19.

On the occasion V. Ramkrishna, Binod Kumar Singh, Hassan Imam, Firoz Khan, Naveen Sundi, Miiler Routh, Akash Routh, Ramesh Lala, K S Prasad, P K Chatterjee, Pitho Soren, and many ex footballers, JFC employees Raja, Anthony, Prashant, JSA Referees and Employees of Sports Dept. were present.
