Jamshedpur, Aug 19: The 19th Youth Jharkhand State Basketball Championship organized by Jamshedpur Basketball Association began at Dhatkidih Community Center on Friday.
Former state BJP president Dineshanand Goswami inaugurated the championship.
SSP Prabhat Kumar was present as the chief guest for the occasion.
The first match of the championship was played between boys team of Jamtara and Hazaribag. Team Jamtara team won the match scoring 13 goals.
In the second match East Singhbhum defeated Ramgarh Boys by scoring 59 goals.
The third match was won by team BDBA who defeated Deoghar boys by 22 goals.
East Singhbhum girls defeated Seraikela scoring 12 goals.
In the fifth match of the day Jamshedpur girls defeated Deoghar by scoring 24 goals.
Earlier, Jharkhand State Basketball Association’s President Bharat Singh, Secretary Jai Prakash Singh, Civil Surgeon Sahir Pal, Irrigation Department’s Chief Engineer A.K. Das, Gurdeep Singh, Bhaskar Kumar, K.K. Singh, Neeraj Singh, Dinesh Sharma, Vinod Rai, Raj Kishore Singh, Treasurer Ramkumar Upadhyay, Senior Vice President Shivshankar Singh, Technical Chairman Yogesh Kumar Pandey, Assistant Secretary Subodh Kumar, selection committee members Rajan Singh, Arif Aftab, Mohan Kumar and others were present.
