18 year-old boy drowned at Subernarekha river ghat near Co-operative College

Jamshedpur : In a shocking incident a an 18 year old boy, was drowned at the Subernarekha river ghat near the Jamshedpur Co-operative College under Bistupur police station area on Thursday morning.

The victim was identified as Rajesh Bag (18), a resident of an outhouse at the Northern Town.  He was the only child of his parents and a student of Prem Jyoti Prangan, a school for less privileged children.  

Rajesh along had gone for bath when the incident took place. His friends soon ran away when the victim got drowned.

Two other youth who were also taking bath in the river rescued the victim from the water. But as there was no response from the victim, the duo had rushed him to MGM Medical College and Hospital emergency where doctors declared him as brought dead.

Rajesh was the only child of Jaisen Bag and wife Sangita.  He studied in class VII in Prem Jyoti Prangan. The victim’s father who works in a transport firm was at home when his son’s friends had come to call him, but he did not pay attention, who the boys were.

Officer-in-charge, Bistupur police station, Jitendra Kumar confirmed that there was a drowning death of a teen-aged boy. He said that the police was looking for the three friends with whom the victim was taking bath.
