16 Timken Union members resign

Jamshedpur: Timken Workers Union was in for a constitutional crisis on Tuesday after its 16 members including six office bearers resigned their membership.

The six, deputy president Adhip Bar, Rajkishore Prasad, deputy president LP Singh, assistant secretary Anant Kumar, Anjan Sur and treasurer Sapan Mahato.

Other 10 members include Vishwajeet Mahato, Bablu Karmakar, R Manohar, Radhakant Verma, Ramdas Murmu, Arun Kumar, Jitendra Mahato, Jay Kant Prasad, Premashish Mahato and Himanshu Mahato.

They handed over their mass resignation letter to the union president Zahir Ahmad Siddiqui. They said the union was now in minority. The union working committee was formed in October 2012.

They alleged that no welfare activity in favour of workers had taken place till date since the formation of the committee.
