150th edition of Sahitya Majlis at Rabindra Bhavan Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, July 7: The 150th edition of Sahitya Majlis was organized at the Rabindra Bhavan auditorium in Sakchi. Ashis Chowdhury, General Secretary of Tagore Society, highlighted that for several years, educationists and literature enthusiasts have gathered at Rabindra Bhavan once a month to discuss literature. The 150th edition marked 150 months of continuous literary discussions.

In this one-day literary workshop, Swami Krishnanathananda and renowned Bengali scholar and educationist Dr. Pavitra Sarkar from Ramakrishna Mission Kolkata shared their insights on Swami Vivekananda and Rabindranath Tagore. Swami Krishnanathananda emphasized the ideological similarities between Swami Vivekananda and Rabindranath Tagore. He noted that while Swami Vivekananda enriched the land with charity and humanity, Rabindranath Tagore created literature imbued with love and deep sentiments for nature and all living beings.

Dr. Pavitra Sarkar described Swami Vivekananda and Rabindranath Tagore as blessings for humanity. He remarked that both figures worked tirelessly to eliminate societal evils and advance society by breaking traditional boundaries. Their enduring legacy, reflected in their writings and words, continues to inspire social uplift.

The program was conducted by Dr. Achinto Kumar Das. General Secretary Ashis Chowdhury concluded by stating that literature served as a platform for new literary creations while also honoring writers who had contributed to societal growth.
