Jamshedpur, May 25: A total of 1500 students from Jamshedpur appeared for the IIT-JEE (Advance) examination across two centres in the city on Sunday, May 25 while 1.35 lakh students took the test across the country.
The entrance was held in two sittings, paper I from 9 am to 12 noon and paper II from 2 pm to 5 pm at Loyola School and DBMS English School. All the 360 questions were of objective type. Results are scheduled to be published on June 19. As the city has produced national toppers in ISC and ICSE exam the students will be hoping another brilliant perfromace from the aspirtants and make Jamshedpur prooud one again. This year the exam is being conducted by IIT Kharagpur.
It may be noted that 9000 students took the JEE Mains exam out of which 1500 crossed the 115 mark barrier set by the IIT.
The JEE (A) authorities would publish the answer keys on June 1 and answer sheets between June 8 and June 11. Qualified students will be considered for admission in the 16 IITs besides ISM Dhanbad provided they are in the top 20 per cent students in their respective boards in Plus II.
The five Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research branches and Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology, Rae Bareli, will also draw students from among JEE (advanced) qualifiers though they would conduct separate counseling. Qualified aspirants interested for admission in architecture have to appear for an aptitude test on June 26, the results of which will be published on June 29.
