Jamshedpur, June 5: 15 new corona positive were reported in Jamshedpur on Friday, June 5 taking the total tally in East Singhbhum to 162. Two cases came up in the evening from Mango and Dumaria in Ghatsila while 13 cases were reported late in the night on Friday. All the positives were in institutional quarantine and have travel history. The positives have been admitted to TMH COVID-19 ward. A day after 21 persons defeated Coronavirus in Jamshedpur, five more were discharged from TMH. Total of 34 patients in Jamshedpur have overcome the deadly virus and have been discharged from the�hospital. Of the five patients discharged on Friday three are resident of Mousabani while one each are from Baridih and Mango.�
DC Ravi Shanker Shukla confirmed about the development and informed that all the patients have been admitted to COVID-19 ward of TMH. 5 corona patients were tested negative and discharged from TMH on Friday. Total of 34 persons have defeated the disease.
On the other hand, 93 positives came in from Jharkhand on Friday taking the state tally to 936. The new positives are from Simdega 30, Hazaribagh 24, Latehar and Garhwa recorded 6 cases each, Jamshedpur 15, while one case each was reported from Gumla, Dhanbad, Koderma, Ranchi and Palamau and 7 from Ramgarh.�Jharkhand on Friday also reported its seventh death as 70-year-old from Simdega succemed to COVID-19. He was admitted to Medica hospital after suffering from kidney ailment after his condition became serious he was shifted to RIMS. He breathed his last on Friday.�
According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare the total number of Covid-19 cases in the state has increased to 936. The death toll has climbed to 7. At least 410 people have recovered from the disease in Jharkhand while 519 active cases are there in the state.
Sahebganj has become the 24th district in the state to be infected with COVID-19 virus. One case has been reported from Sahebganj. Most of the corona positives are migrant workers. Most of the positives in East Singhbhum have travel history and have returned from other states.
Earlier on Tuesday, two intern doctors at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) were found to be Covid-19 positive, health officials said, adding that they had a recent travel history.
Capital Ranchi and East Singhbhum district accounts for 140 and 161 cases respectively out of a total of 936.
A total of 5,415 people, who returned to the state recently, are under surveillance and asymptomatic, while 4,084 have completed the 28-day observation period.
While 91,765 people are in various quarantine centres, 2,91,828 people are in home quarantine, the bulletin said.
The recovery rate of Covid-19 patients is 44.94 per cent in Jharkhand and the mortality rate is 0.7 per cent, it added.
The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi�s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease.
