15 new coronavirus case including 5 from Sakchi, 4 from Mango up Jamshedpur tally to 662

Ranchi/Jamshedpur, July 11: Jharkhand for the fifth day in a trot on Saturday, July 11 recorded 100 plus cases.

Coronavirus cases in Jharkhand have crossed 3600 mark with 147 new cases reported on Saturday. With 147 new cases the state tally has risen to 3666.

In Jamshedpur the COVID-19 tally has reached 662. With 15 new cases reported on Saturday, July 11 the total cases in East Singhbhum district stands at 662. July 7 saw maximum cases being reported in single day in Jamshedpur with 58 positives. Earlier 43 cases came up on May 30 while July 2 recorded 45 cases in a single day.

The district administration spokesperson informed that 15 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Saturday while 2 people have recovered and were discharged from TMH COVID-19 ward.

Of the new positives on Saturday, 5 persons have travel history while 10 persons came in contact with other COVID patients.

2 persons have returned from Bangalore, 1 from Bihar and 1 from Hyderabad.   

Of the new positives in Jamshedpur, 1 person from Bistupur, 2 from Baridih, 2 from Jugsalai, 1 from Dumaria, 5 from Sakchi and 4 are resident of Mango.

Jharkhand on Saturday recorded 24th death as Giridih resident succumbed to the virus at Medanta Hospital in Ranchi. The elderly was suffering from number of diseases and before coming to Medanta he was treated at Ramgarh.  

For the first time in Jharkhand, 23 districts reported corona cases in a day.

New positive cases were recorded from Bokaro 6, Chatra 12, Deoghar 2, Dhanbad 5, Dumka 1, Garhwa 21, Giridih 6, Godda 1, Gumla 8, Hazaribagh 2, Jamtara 2, Koderma 13, Latehar 3, Lohardaga 5, Pakur 3, Palamu 7, Ramgarh 10, Ranchi 15, Sahebganj 4, Seraikela 4, Simdega 1, West Singhbhum 1 taking the state corona tally to 3666.  

The number of active COVID-19 cases in the state is 1387 and fatalities at 24 while 2256 people have recovered and discharged from the hospital. More than 2191 corona patients tested positive are migrant workers who returned to Jharkhand after May 1.

The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi�s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease. East Singhbhum district accounts for 662 cases out of a total of 3666. The state has imposed lockdown till July 31. Religious places, malls, saloon, spas, schools, colleges will remain closed till July 31.
