Jamshedpur, Aug 26: Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF) is all set to organize an expedition to Mt. Kang Yatse (20 830) situated in Leh – Markha valley in Ladakh region which will provide the thrill and adventure of climbing a new Peak. After undertaking TSAFs Leadership Development programmes in Siyari Top in Uttarkashi 12000 ft, and Leadership Development Expedition to Mt Kanamo 19600 ft in Spiti Valley of Himachal Pradesh, this expedition will be another opportunity of learning leadership skills through mountaineering.
According to Hemant Gupta, Sr. Manager, TSAF, It is not a technically difficult peak to climb but provides enough challenge to those having some experience of high altitude trekking in the Himalayas and will give them a feel of a mini trailer of the unfamiliar mountain world.
An Alpine style approach would be taken for the Expedition where team members will themselves plan for everything viz. Ration requirement, equipment requirement, transportation, and ferry load to higher camps thus doing away with porters. This is in line with TSAFs effort to run programmes in a sustainable manner, adjusting and adapting to ensure protection of the environment. As always,
TSAF experts would provide necessary guidance and support for safety of the team members as well as for experiential learning of leadership skills. Both are needed to reach the top- be it a Himalayan Peak or challenges in the workplace.
Rajendra Singh Pal, Mt. Everest Summitter and a highly qualified TSAF Programme Officer, having nearly 3 decades of field experience will be overall in-charge of the expedition with support from Ms L Annapurna and Anil Rana, both highly experienced TSAF Instructors. Sushanta Mahato, another experienced TSAF staff member will be the quarter master and also take care of the food arrangements.
Expedition will begin on August 31 and will conclude on September 12, 2019.
The 12 member team includes Praveen, Deepak Kumar Sah, Vaibhav Jain, Twisampati Bhandari, Shubhanand Mukesh, G Bharat, Pankaj Kumar, Harish Kumar Sharma, Rajesh Mallik, Sandeep Kumar Tanwar, Himanshu Jain and Heena Kumari.
