Jamshedpur, March 19: A grand Deepotsav was organised at a Ram Mandir in Bistupur to mark the auspicious occasion of Chaitra Shukla Pratipada, the beginning of the Hindu New Year today.
The celebration, organized under the aegis of the Hindu New Year Festival Committee, witnessed an impressive turnout of devotees.
The programme commenced with traditional puja and other rituals led by coordinator Niranjan Pandey.
Following the rituals, a ceremonial lamp-lighting was carried out by senior members including Dilip Goyal, Balbir Pandey, and temple committee president V.D. Gopal Krishnan.
The highlight of the evening was the collective lighting of 11,000 earthen lamps, illuminating the entire temple premises.
With active participation from women and devotees, the surroundings transformed into a radiant spectacle, filled with devotion and festive spirit.
