Mail News Service

Jamshedpur, Aug 9: The railways have served notice to 110 shops and residence owners settled by the side of rail tracks at Barigora to vacate their establishments by August 25. The order has been served by the Senior Section Engineer (land) of railways. The people concerned are tensed.

The sudden serving of the notice has unnerved the people. The people are worried especially in view of the rainy season. The immediate question doing the rounds is how will they save themselves from the rains if their houses are razed.  The local people are contending, When they cleared the land of houses in Krishnanagar at Jojobera, they had marked the areas for laying of the third line. But what is the railways project on the other side which is Barigora? the people are angry because the railways are not coming clear on their intentions.

The people to be affected as a result of the railway notification met the AEN 1 Tatanagar Sanjay Kumar. The AEN, according to the people, had given them a notice that they were throwing garbage on the rail tracks as a result of which the tracks were being blocked.  The residents will shortly meet the parliamentarian and legislator with a request to stop the railways intent of razing their shops and residences.
