Jamshedpur: Eleven players from Srinath University and Srinath College of Education have been selected to participate in the 4th East Zone Pickleball Championship, scheduled in Ranchi from April 10 to 12, 2026, marking a significant milestone for local sports institutions.
From Srinath University, Muskan Kumari will compete in the Under-19 girls’ singles category, while Ravi Kumar and Mayank Adarsh will represent the men’s doubles team. In the men’s singles category, Shiv Narayan Kumar, Sonu Kumar, and Vivek Kumar will compete.
Srinath College of Education will field Rahul Kumar, Sanjeev Kumar Mahato, Suman Ghose and Biju Mandal in the men’s singles category. In addition, Jamshedpur Women’s University will be represented by Purnima Pramanik and Sneha Kumari in the women’s doubles category.
The teams will be guided by coaches Suryajeet Singh from Srinath College of Education and Dr. Prabhat Kumar Mahato from Jamshedpur Women’s University, with R. Teja serving as team manager. Championship officials include secretary Suryajeet Singh, president Amit Kumar Singh, and treasurer Ranjeet Kumar Singh.
The selection of 11 players highlights the growing sports culture in Jharkhand and reflects the rising popularity of pickleball, with young athletes making their mark at the zonal level. The achievement demonstrates the institutions’ commitment to nurturing talent and promoting emerging sports disciplines among students.
