108 Kalashas installed during Brahmotsavam celebrations

Jamshedpur, Feb. 10 : As part of 2nd Brahmotsavam celebrations at Sri Venkateswara Temple (Balaji Temple) located at Morakati, Baridih, the pujas and havans commenced with Suprabhata seva for Lord Venkateswara, followed by puja for Lord Ganesh on Friday.

Later on, 108 Kalashas were installed containing 118 litres of milk and abhishek with it was performed for Lord Venkateswara. After the abhishek, Sri Sookta Sri Mahalakshmi Moola Mantra havan was performed by ved pandit Sri Narasimha Acharyulu, chief priest of renowned Birla Mandir of Hyderabad. Chatusthanarchana was also conducted and all the pujas today concluded with Poornahuti. Later on Maha Deeparadhana was shown to all presiding deities at the temple and bhog was distributed to hundreds of devotees who witnessed the pujas and havan today.

In the afternoon, Sri Lakshmi Sahasra Kumkumarchana was performed by the women of the community and also from the neighbouring areas to the sacred chanting of hymns by the pandits.

Sri Lakshmi Narayana Hrudaya havan was also performed in the evening and again Chatusthanarchana and Poornahuti was conducted, ending with Maha Aarti to the presiding deities. Prashad was distributed to the devotees by the members of the temple’s managing committee.
