108 Kalash Abhishekam held at Balaji Temple Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: Religious rituals marked the third day of the Brahmotsavam at the Balaji Temple in Sidhgora, drawing a large number of devotees on Saturday.

The day’s rituals began with Suprabhat Seva for Lord Balaji, followed by the Nitya Archana and the Yagashala Archana.  Priests performed the Abhishekam of Lord Balaji using 108 sacred vessels (Kalashas) as part of the special ceremony.

During the ritual, 108 vessels filled with water were first installed and sanctified. The Panchamrit — comprising milk, curd, ghee, honey and sugar — was then added to the vessels one by one. Priests performed the Abhishekam according to Telugu traditions, following scriptural procedures and chanting Vedic mantras.

The entire ritual was carried out 108 times, and devotees gathered in large numbers to witness the sacred ceremony and offer their prayers.

Several members of the temple committee and volunteers played an important role in organising the event. Among them were Kamala Sharma, R.S.N. Raju, R. Prabhakar Rao, Mukund Rao, Ravi Kiran, Ravi Ramachandran, Narsimha Rao, D. Ramu, Yashoda Soni, Pramila, Rani, Bhanu, Padma, Santosh Rao and Uma.
