108 beneficiaries get LPG connection

Jadugora: Free LPG connections were given to 108 villagers in Harina village of Potka on Tuesday under Ujjwala scheme. The MP of Potka Bidyut Baran Mahato and MLA Menka Sardar gave new gas connection kits to the beneficiaries.
Addressing the villagers, the MP said the Central government had started the Ujjwala scheme in order to save women from the hazardous smoke emanating from traditional chulhas (stove). Every year, thousands of women died of pollution caused by smoke, he said.
Avinash Kumar, manager of Aradhya Indane, Jadugora, said so far 3200 people had been given free connections. More people would be given free connections, he said.
