10 year old escapes death after uncle dumps parent’s bodies in Ghat

A 10-year-old boy narrowly escaped death after travelling in a car carrying his murdered parents’ bodies.
Police arrested cab driver Indushekar on Friday for allegedly killing seven members of his wife’s family in Bengaluru.
The Grim Journey
Indushekar stuffed the bodies of the boy’s parents, Shankar and Nalini, inside plastic gunny bags in his vehicle.
The accused spared the child temporarily to answer phone calls and send messages, faking that the family was travelling.
When the boy noticed a foul smell, Indushekar claimed the bags contained garbage and waste material.
The suspect dumped the bodies in the Shiradi Ghat region while the child slept and drove back to Bengaluru.
Indushekar planned to murder the boy upon reaching home, alongside another intended victim, before police intercepted him.
Sequence of the Killings
Investigators revealed the accused executed the seven murders over 15 to 20 days, starting on October 16.
Indushekar first killed his 40-year-old wife, Sunitha, and then murdered his 65-year-old mother-in-law, Roopavathi.
He later lured and killed his brother-in-law Shivakumar, his wife Divya, and their seven-year-old son, Puneeth.
His other brother-in-law, Shankar, and Shankar’s wife, Nalini, became the final victims in the horrific spree.
Indushekar smashed a grinding stone against the victims’ heads while they sat or slept, ensuring their deaths.
He bought 15 gunny bags to pack the corpses and cleaned the house with chemicals to erase bloodstains.
Forensic experts still detected blood splashes across the hall, rooms, and kitchen using modern investigative equipment.
Minor Daughter Under Investigation
Bengaluru Police named Indushekar’s minor daughter as the second accused for allegedly witnessing and assisting in the crimes.
Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh confirmed investigators are questioning the girl to understand how her father brainwashed her.
Detectives suspect she helped lure the family members to the house one by one after Sunitha’s murder.
Property Dispute and Arrest
Police suspect a property dispute involving assets worth Rs 2.5 crore in Srirampura triggered the mass murder.
Indushekar previously tricked his mother-in-law into signing six stamp papers, which his wife angrily retrieved from him.
During interrogation, the accused also claimed his wife frequently taunted him, causing him severe mental distress.
The crime surfaced after Nalini’s mother filed a missing-person complaint at the Srirampura police station.
Police tracked the victims’ mobile phones, noticing they repeatedly moved alongside Indushekar’s device between October 16 and 31.
Officers intercepted Indushekar’s foul-smelling car in Halasuru and recovered the victims’ phones kept together inside a cover.
Police later took the accused to Nandi Hills, where search teams recovered seven-year-old Puneeth’s body.
Investigators continue searching for the remaining bodies while probing the minor’s exact role and the property motive.
