Jamshedpur, Nov 24: Rail passengers in and around Tatanagar will face heightened travel woes on Tuesday, as the South Eastern Railway has decided to cancel 10 local trains for operational reasons.
The cancelled services include Hatia–Tatanagar MEMU, Jhajjaram–Purulia MEMU, Tatanagar–Barbil MEMU, Tatanagar–Barkakana MEMU, Rajkharsawan–Tatanagar Passenger, Tatanagar–Badampahar MEMU (three pairs), Tatanagar–Guwa MEMU, and the Tatanagar–Itwari Express.
Railway officials have also hinted that multiple local services are planned to remain suspended on November 26 and 27 as well, signalling continued disruptions in the coming days.
These cancellations are expected to severely affect daily commuters across Kolhan region, adjoining parts of West Bengal, and Odisha.
Thousands of passengers—including workers, students, traders, and villagers—depend on these MEMU and passenger trains for affordable and frequent transportation.
Public concerns have intensified as limited alternatives often lead to overcrowding in buses and other modes of transport.
Passengers are urging the railway administration to restore normal operations at the earliest to avoid further inconvenience.
The railways appealed travellers to check the updated time-tables and service availability before planning their journey.
