Jamshedpur/Ranchi, July 17: With four deaths on Friday, July 16, the Covid-19 toll in Jharkhand has reached 46 and the number of cases has risen to 5110 with 305 cases reported on Friday. One death was reported each from Jamshedpur, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh and Godda.
The average death rate in the month of July is two deaths per day. The death toll in Jharkhand has climbed to 46.
The corona crisis in growing in Jharkhand. The average corona positive tally in the state in the month of July is 125. On Friday, 305 positives were reported in Jharkhand till 10 pm. Earlier, 320 cases were reported on July 15 while 268 cases were reported in a single day on July 13.
Coronavirus cases in Jharkhand have crossed 5000 mark with 305 new cases reported on Friday. With new cases the state tally has risen to 5110.
In Jamshedpur the COVID-19 tally has reached 766. With 17 new cases reported on Friday, July 17, the total cases in East Singhbhum district stands at 766. July 7 saw maximum cases being reported in single day in Jamshedpur with 58 positives. Earlier 43 cases came up on May 30 while July 2 recorded 45 cases in a single day.
The district administration spokesperson informed that 17 corona positives have been identified in the East Singhbhum district on Friday while 26 people have recovered and were discharged from TMH COVID-19 ward.
Of the 17 new positives on Friday, 5 persons have travel history. 1 person has returned from Pune via Ranchi and 4 have travel history to Bihar. All the other positives are residents of Jamshedpur city.
All the positives have been admitted to COVID-19 wards.
The situation is alarming given the rising death toll in Kolhan region. But all the deceased have been suffering from critical disease.
Other Jharkhand positive cases were reported from Bokaro 15, Chatra 57, Deoghar 1, Dhanbad 6, Dumka 4, Garhwa 23, Giridih 10, Gumla 4, Hazaribagh 2, Jamtara 1, Khunti 4, Koderma 1, Latehar 42, Lohardaga 4, Pakur 3, Ramgarh 5, Ranchi 60, Sahebganj 22, Seraikela 4, Simdega 4, and West Singhbhum 16 taking the state corona tally to 5110.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in the state is 2473 and fatalities at 46 while 2577 people have recovered and discharged from the hospital. 2245 corona patients tested positive are migrant workers who returned to Jharkhand after May 1.
The first case of the pandemic was reported from Hindpiri on March 31, when a 22-year-old Malaysian woman, who had been to Delhi�s Tablighi Jamaat congregation, tested positive. She has since been discharged after being recorded from the dreaded disease. East Singhbhum district accounts for 766 cases out of a total of 5110. The state has imposed lockdown till July 31. Religious places, malls, saloon, spas, schools, colleges will remain closed till July 31.
