Jamshedpur, July 19: The district administration is gearing up to add the names of about 1 lakh 7 thousand voters to the voter list, in which the largest number are from the urban Assembly Constituencies Jamshedpur East and Jamshedpur West or the Assembly Constituencies Jugaslai adjacent to the city.

DC Vijaya Jadhav said that if we look at each booth on an average, there are 90-95 voters in Jamshedpur East, 109 voters in Jamshedpur West and 44 voters in Jugsalai assembly constituency. She also appealed to all the voters of the district to give correct information to the BLO during the house-to-house survey work and cooperate in the verification of the voter list.

Meanwhile, in the dignified presence of the Chief Electoral Officer of Jharkhand K. Ravi Kumar in the Town Hall at Sidgoda, a special brief revision of the voter list-2024 for the successful and smooth implementation of the program 46-Potaka (A.J.J.A.) (Dumaria block) (Except), 47-Jugsalai (A.J.), 48-Jamshedpur East and 49-Jamshedpur West ERO, AERO, BLO, BLO Supervisor, Master Trainer, Computer Operator were held meeting-cum-training program. The main objective of the workshop was the orientation of all the BLOs with a special focus on how to increase voter turnout in urban areas. In view of the Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections to be held in the year 2024, the Chief Electoral Officer guided all the members present in the workshop, especially the BLO, on how to create a clean and error-free voter list. He said that during the house-to-house survey work, take special care that the name of a single voter above 18 years of age is not omitted from being recorded in the voter list.

The Chief Electoral Officer, Jharkhand said in his address that the responsibility of 29 thousand 500 BLOs working in the entire state is increased when the names of about 22 lakh voters are yet to be added in the preparation of a clean voter list. He asked all the BLOs to see the voting percentage of your polling stations in the last two elections, if the voting is low then understand that there is a mistake in the voter list. He said that adding the names of 100% eligible voters to the voter list will increase the voting percentage itself. Voting is low in urban areas, especially at such polling stations. Without the active participation of BLO, an error-free and clean electoral roll cannot be made. The Election Commission has made extensive preparations to increase the voter turnout by marking such polling stations in urban areas to sensitize young voters who have completed 18 years of age as well as to take their household members to the polling stations. To be inspired is included.

The district election officer-cum-deputy commissioner said that the special brief revision program of voter list has started from 01 June 2023, under which BLO will conduct door-to-door verification in the district from 21 July to 21 August.

On this occasion, the voter awareness chariot was flagged off by Chief Electoral Officer, Jharkhand, District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner, Deputy Development Commissioner, SDM Dhalbhum along with the release of balloons in the sky.
