Nursery admission lottery begins, result on Jan 20
Jamshedpur: The entry process for nursery and LKG in all CBSE-ICSE Board schools in the city has commenced, with the lottery process for admissions taking place from Friday. Approximately 1.15 lakh parents have filled forms for admission to around 9750 seats in 70 private schools across the city. On average, a parent has submitted admission forms to six or seven schools. The lottery process will continue until January 19, and the results will be declared on January 20.
To ensure transparency, the district education department has instructed private school administrators to provide written information about entry points, the percentage of seats allocated for general category children, the timing of the lottery, and the procedure for conducting the lottery. The information has been submitted in writing to the district education department by most schools by January 4.
During the lottery, a team of 10 parents and supervisors will be present. The district education director has specifically issued guidelines for the lottery process. In case of any discrepancies during the lottery, actions will be taken, including canceling the school’s accreditation.
Admission forms for economically weaker children will be submitted online after January 20 through a state-level portal, as announced by the School Education and Literacy Department. The scrutiny for reserved seats under RTE will be done at the departmental level.
The lottery results for admission to private schools in Jamshedpur will be announced both online and offline on January 20, 2024, as declared by the Jamshedpur Unaided Private School Association
To ensure the authenticity of certificates submitted during the admission process, a thorough screening has begun. Various school administrators are cross-checking the documents submitted by parents. Birth certificates, Aadhar cards, and other certificates have been collected during the application process. Although Aadhar cards are not mandatory, some schools are collecting them for their convenience.
The lottery results will be uploaded on the respective school websites as well as on the district education department’s website. Any complaints or disputes after the lottery and results will undergo a thorough investigation.
