Signboards with Raghubar and Banna’s names to be removed in Jamshedpur   

Jamshedpur, March 9: The Jharkhand Government has directed the Special Officer of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee to remove the names of the then Chief Minister, Raghubar Das and the present Minister,Banna Gupta, from the signboards of the names of the streets and localities and said that by removing the names, they would send the names to the department. 

This order has been given by the Joint Secretary, Urban Development and Housing Department, Government of Jharkhand.

The Jharkhand government has given this answer in response to a short notice question of Jamshedpur East MLA Saryu Roy in in the Vidhan Sabha.  Roy had asked the government that in East Jamshedpur, the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee has already written the name of the then Chief Minister on that plaque, while inscribing the name of the then Chief Minister along with the names of the streets and localities. Seeing this, the present Health Minister of Jharkhand Government, Banna Gupta has also got hundreds of similar signboards installed in Jamshedpur West assembly constituency, on which his name is written in big letters.

Roy questioned that by whose order such sign boards have been put up. The Special Officer of JNAC, in a reply sent to the Urban Development Department, said that the then MLA of Jamshedpur East, who was also the Chief Minister of the state, had recommended to put up a sign board in his name. These sign boards have been put upon his instructions. The Special Officer further informed that the Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee has not ordered the installation of hundreds of sign boards bearing the name of the Health Minister, Banna Gupta, in the Jamshedpur West Vidhan Sabha.
