Jamshedpur, June 19: Students of Little Flower School (LFS) delivered an impressive performance at the CISCE Zonal Chess Selection Trials, securing top positions and qualifying for the Regional Chess Tournament.
In a remarkable achievement, 12-year-old Darsh Gaurav secured 2nd place in the Under-19 Boys category. Though eligible for the Under-14 category, Darsh chose to compete in the tougher Under-19 division, showcasing his courage and skill by finishing as one of the top players.
Joining him is V. Akash, who claimed 3rd position in the same category. His strong and steady gameplay earned him a spot in the upcoming Regional Tournament, alongside Darsh.

In the Under-14 Girls category, Class 6 student Anushka Singh made her mark by securing 2nd place. She won five out of six matches, demonstrating exceptional focus and determination. Her performance was consistent and confident, earning her well-deserved recognition.
The school’s principal congratulated Darsh, Akash, and Anushka for their outstanding achievements and wished them success in the Regional Chess Championships. “These students have made us proud. Their dedication, strategic thinking, and sportsmanship are truly commendable,” the principal said.
The performance of these young talents proves that with passion and perseverance, success can come at any age.
