XLRI Students Strengthen Financial Awareness for Staff via Money Mantra 2025

JAMSHEDPUR: In a significant move toward community empowerment, Sanchetna, the financial literacy cell of XLRI Jamshedpur, hosted ‘Money Mantra 2025.’ The initiative focused on strengthening financial awareness and enabling individuals to access various welfare benefits available to them, ensuring that the institution’s support staff are not left behind in the journey toward financial security.

Bridging the Gap to Social Security

The event saw over 200 campus staff members and their families engage in interactive sessions designed to demystify institutional finance. The Sanchetna team provided comprehensive guidance on more than 30 Central and State Government schemes. By simplifying complex eligibility criteria and application processes, the students successfully empowered participants to navigate the pathways toward social security, insurance, and long-term savings.

Direct Impact through Insurance and Partnerships

A major highlight of the program was the ‘Gift an Insurance’ campaign, where XLRI students provided one-year coverage under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) to the staff. This gesture served a dual purpose: providing immediate financial protection and serving as a practical lesson on how government-backed insurance works.

The State Bank of India (SBI) supported the mission as the official sponsor, providing on-the-spot guidance to help staff members enroll in schemes immediately. Professor H. K. Pradhan, Faculty Coordinator, noted that since 2013, the group has been dedicated to this mission of financial inclusion, while Sanchetna Secretary Harsh Goyal emphasized that ‘Money Mantra’ is a core reflection of XLRI’s ethos of responsible leadership and social impact.
