Jamshedpur : In a bizarre incident a 24-year-old woman Babita Rajak was beaten by her in- laws as she opposed to go for a pre-natal test. The victim was taken to MGM Medical College and Hospital after the incident.
Babita is a resident of Daiguttu in Mango. She is in her early stage of pregnancy. She had refused to go for the test as the husband and the in-laws dream of a male child.
she was married to Bijay Kishore Rajak, a police constable posted at Garwah district, since January, 2013. On getting the information about the assault, Babita’s mother, Jagat Rani rushed from Noamundi where she stayed with her husband and a younger daughter.
Jagat Rani said they got their daughter married to Bijay Rajak by spending Rs 14 lakh in January last year but she has been tortured by her in-laws. Meanwhile, an official of Sakchi Police Station said that the matter was being investigated.
