Chandil: A woman inmate of Gumla Jail, identified as Jagni Mundain, 45, reportedly committed suicide in the toilet of Sadar Hospital in Gumla late yesterday night.
She was admitted to the hospital after she complained of stomach pain. She was sent to Gumla Divisional Jail along with her husband Chitra Munda on charges of killing her nephew in the year 2011.
She had complained of stomach pain on 18th May last. She was taken to Gumla Sadar Hospital where she ended her life in the toilet.
Two lady constables Pabren Lakra and Benjamin were standing outside the toilet when the incident happened. Police have begun an investigation into the incident.
