Jamshedpur, Nov 9: The Ananda Marga Pracharak Sangh organized an ideal marriage ceremony in Sakchi, marked by the notable leadership of a woman priest.
On behalf of the bride’s side, Ananda Marga’s woman priest, Dr. Ashu, officiated the ceremony, while Rajendra Prasad represented the groom’s side.
Tanisha Priya, daughter of Brijendra Kumar of Katihar, was married to Pranav Kumar, son of Devendra Kumar Singh, a sub-inspector from Giridih.
The rituals were conducted with the chanting of vedic mantras.
The couple took vows by reciting the sacred chants three times in the presence of society and the supreme consciousness, followed by a three-time exchange of garlands.
A key highlight of the event was that the entire ceremony was officiated by a woman priest.
Dr. Ashu emphasized that Ananda Marga rejects the dowry system and upholds marriages based on mutual understanding and shared ideology.
She added that Shri Shri Anandamurti Ji empowered women by granting them the right to priesthood, recognizing that men and women are equal wheels of the social structure.
