Jamshedpur: Sunday morning saw a tragic incident as 26-year-old woman Karuna Ruhidas took her own life by hanging herself at home in the jurisdiction of the Birsanagar police station in Zone Number 8 of Jamshedpur.
Upon receiving information about the incident, family members rushed to Karuna’s aid, untied her from the noose, and immediately transported her to MGM Hospital. After a thorough examination, she was declared dead. The body has been sent for post-mortem.
Karuna’s husband, Akash, earns a livelihood through manual labor. He informed the police that he had gone to work when Karuna handed a mobile phone to the children to keep them occupied. Later, she secluded herself in a room, tied a noose with a dupatta, and took the extreme step. The motive behind Karuna’s suicide remains unknown as Akash has not been able to provide any information regarding the reasons behind her decision.
The police are conducting a thorough investigation into the matter, and further details will be revealed as the procedural formalities, including the post-mortem examination, are completed.
