Waste management centre to be set up in Kasipur

Jamshedpur: The waste management centre of Adityapur will be set up in Kasipur. Seraikela-Kharsawan district administration has provided four acres of land for the proposed waste management plant to the urban development department. With the allotment of land, the plant is likely to be set up very soon. However, another roadblock on its way is the environmental clearance from the pollution board. Adityapur Municipal Corporation has submitted an application in this regard to the authorities concerned.
According to sources, more than 25 tons of waste is discharged from Adityapur Municipal area on a daily basis. Due to lack of proper waste management machinery, the residents have to face much inconvenience. On many occasions, the local residents end up locking horns with the municipal authorities concerned, sources said.
Sources said the waste management centre may be built smoothly only if the local villagers do not put up resistance. Local residents have strongly opposed the project earlier, sources said.
