Wall paintings to spread awareness on child rights: DC

Jamshedpur, Sept 13: The quarterly meeting of District Child Protection Committee cum Childline Advisory Board and Child Welfare Committee was convened at the Jamshedpur Collectorate on Friday. It was chaired by deputy commissioner Ravi Shankar Shukla.

Addressing the meeting, Shukla said an awareness campaign should be launched on child rights and related issues. He said wall paintings could help spead the message at block and district level. He said cradles should be installed in all government and private hospitals of the city to take care of newborn infants deserted by their relatives.

The DC further directed the district officials concerned to take steps to fill vacant posts in the district child protection unit and run the one stop centre expeditiously.

The meeting was also attended by Zila Parishad president Bulurani Singh, district welfare officer, representatives of various child helpline, government and private organizations.
