Jamshedpur: Students of Vivek Vidyalaya, Chhota Govindpur, Telco, brought pride to the city by securing first place in the group folk dance category at the 9th All India Dance Competition ‘Kala Heera’, held at CCWO Community Center, Dhanbad. The event was organized by the Koyalanchal Bharat Coking Coal Dance Music and Drama Association.
The competition saw participation from 190 artists across 10 states in classical, semi-classical, and folk dance formats. Vivek Vidyalaya students mesmerized the audience with their captivating performance of a Bengali folk dance choreographed by renowned classical dance expert Moumita Chakraborty from Kolkata.
The performance received thunderous applause and was highly praised by the judges. Moumita Chakraborty was honored with the ‘Guru Samman’ for her significant contribution to classical dance. Gayatri Singh was also specially felicitated for the school’s outstanding participation.
All winning students received certificates and mementoes. School Headmaster Awadhesh Kumar Singh extended his best wishes to the students and congratulated the team for its excellent achievement on a national platform
