Gamharia, July 15: Villagers today protested at the Block Office in demand for construction of roads and drains near Nav Jyoti Vidya Mandir and Sai Mandir Path. Leading the delegation Sanjiv Thakur told reporters that due to the absence of drainage system and road in front of the Nav Jyoti Vidya Mandir, dirty water flows onto the path and this causes great difficulties to commuters. He also stated that a drain had been constructed near the Sai Mandir but is non functional. It had to be joined to the drain near the main road. Moreover the pipe and chamber of the drain were two feet above street level thus obstructing movement and causing innumerable mishaps.
In the absence of the BDO the protesting villagers handed a letter of demand to the Panchayati Raj Officer for immediate construction of drains and roads. The protesters included Dharmnath Kumar, Raj Kumar Yadav, Kundan Jha, Srikant Jha, Rani Mishra, Dharmshila Devi and others.
