UCIL provides “Dona and Pattal” machine to women groups

Jamshedpur, April 1: Uranium Corporation of India Limited (UCIL) provided “Dona and Pattal” (bowl and plate made up of Sal or Banyan tree leaves) making machine to women of Nandup and Talsa village situated near Turmadih Uranium project which will empower them. A programme was held at the Turmadih Community Centre UCIL managemnet handed over two machines to the Adivasi Mahila Mandal (Nandup) and Veer Buru Sagen Sakam (Tasla) women groups. The manufactured “Dona and Pattal” will be directly purchased by the UCIL Company so that they don�t have to visit the market.

The “Dona and Pattal” will be used at the Turmadih canteen for the employees having breakfast. Villagers seemed happy with the step taken by the UCIL management. A villager said that the income will help them to bear their children’s education expense.

Chief Guest for the occasion was Sundernagar Police Station incharge Dilip Yadav, special guest security officer SN Mahato, UCIL’s additional manager Girish Gupta, Magdo Diggi, Arun Nayak along with women groups’ Chaman Diggi, Saraswati Guiya, Lakhi Hansda, Fulmuni Hansda and villagers in large numbers were present.
