Jamshedpur: Two passengers identified as 26-year-old Bablu Lohar from Salbagan, Adityapur and 30-year-old Dhwani Lohar died in road mishap on Monday late evening. The mishap took place when a Tempo coming from Seraikela coming from Adityapur collided with a trailer parked on the road in Gamharia.
Nine others were also injured in the mishap. Three of them are members of the same family. The condition of the tempo driver is critical. He was referred to TMH for treatment.
The injured includes Pushpa Devi, a resident of Salbagan, her daughter Lakshmi Devi and Babli Devi, Pagli, wife of Sadhu Baba, Pinky Lohar, Janki Lohar, Neeru Devi and Lakshmi’s two-year-old son Gopal Lohar.
According to eyewitnesses, tempo driver Pintu Lohar was driving at a high speed and he hit a trailer that was parked on the road near Utkal Automobiles in Gamharia.
Pushpa Devi, who was injured in the accident, said that her house in Salbagan has been built on the land of the forest department. The forest department had issued notice to them a month ago and had asked them to vacate the land. The locals had gone to meet deputy commissioner in protest against forest department�s move. However, they were unable to meet any district officials and decided to return. While on their way back home they met with ill-fated mishap.
