Jamshedpur : Movement of passenger and goods trains on the Kharagpur-Tatanagar section of South-Eastern Railway� was affected� today owing to repair work on tracks between Chakulia and Kokpara.
The Kharagpur-Tatanagar section falls on the Howrah-Mumbai main route.
The repair work started at 9 am and� continued till evening. Besides tracks, the overhead high-tension cable� was also repaired, said railway sources.
The trains which were cancelled are the Tata-Kharagpur Passenger which leaves Tatanagar at 8.50 am and Purulia-Jhargram Passenger, which goes via Tatanagar at around 12.10 pm.
The other passenger trains which were cancelled included Jhargram-Midnapur Passenger ,� Midnapur-Jhargram Jangal Mahal� Passenger and Kharagpur-Tatanagar Passenger.
The Tatanagar-Chakulia Passenger will be short terminated at Ghatsila and will run back as Chakulia-Tatanagar Passenger from Ghatsila to Tatanagar.
Station manager of Tatanagar O P Sharma said that the railways had taken necessary precautions to ensure that passengers were not inconvenienced.
