Jamshedpur : Burglars decamped with gold ornaments and other valuables from house of Amol Patro, a senior surgeon at the Tata Main Hospital (TMH) on Baluchela Road in Sonari. The victim along with his family had been to Kashmir and when he returned home today, found the locks broken.
As the news spread the officer-in-charge, Sonari police station Animesh Gupta arrived at the spot to probe the incident. Gupta also called in a dog squad and also a finger-print expert for pressing into service.
“The burglar had targeted only the almirahs kept in the bed-room this seems they. They took along two gold chain, gold medal and a pearl necklace. There were computers and camera and but they did not touch them,” said the police officer.
Gupta said that the burglars have cut in all eight locks and a portion of the grill at the veranda before entering into the house for committing the burglary. He said there was more than one CCTV cameras in the house, but the doctor had switched them off before leaving for the Kashmir trip.
The doctor claimed that the total cost of the stolen goods was worth over Rs 4 lakh. ” I fail to understand how come in densely-populated locality the thieves dared to enter my house. The criminals must have watched the house and carried out study of the house before committing the theft,” said Patro.
