Jamshedpur: On the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, the All Jharkhand Telugu Samajam distributed snacks to residents of the Navjagrat Manav Samajam Leprosy Ashram near Parvati Ghat. Around 30 residents were served snacks and expressed their gratitude to the Samajam for the thoughtful gesture.
Speaking on the occasion, General Secretary L. Nageshwar Rao said that every year on Mahashivratri, the organisation distributes food or snacks to various ashrams across the city. “Service to humanity is the greatest service,” he said, adding that the aim of the programme is to provide nutritious food to people suffering from leprosy and extend emotional support to them.
He appealed to the public to come forward and participate in such initiatives to help those in need. “With collective support, we can bring positive change in their lives,” he added.
Samajam President Y. Ishwar Rao, Chandrashekhar Rao, Yam Ishwar Rao, Yas Prasad Rao, Kamal Kumar, Janaki Ram, Nagesh Chaudhary, M. Jagdish Rao, Prahlad Rao, Kali Rao, Venkat Rao, Shekhar Rao and Lalita Chaudhary were present.
