Four Trains to Operate from Adityapur Instead of Tatanagar; Chakradharpur Division Issues Orders

Jamshedpur: Starting January 29, four pairs of trains that currently originate from Tatanagar Railway Station will be shifted to Adityapur Railway Station. Following approval from the Railway Board, the Chakradharpur Division issued an official order on Thursday to implement this change.

Reasons for the Shift

The decision stems from the increasing passenger congestion at Tatanagar Railway Station and the upcoming commencement of station redevelopment work. To manage traffic, the Chakradharpur Divisional Headquarters had sent a proposal to the Railway Board seeking permission to operate eight pairs of trains from Adityapur. Following the Board’s approval, the division is initiating the transition for the first four pairs. These trains will now start from Adityapur, and their return (down) journeys will also terminate at the same station.

Concerns Over Passenger Inconvenience

The move is expected to increase the struggle for commuters coming from areas like Burmamines, Karandih, Sarjamda, and Bagbera. Passengers who previously boarded at Tatanagar will now have to travel to Adityapur, leading to approximately an hour of extra travel time and higher expenses for auto-rickshaws or taxis.
