Jamshedpur, Dec 19: Railway authorities have cancelled several passenger train services for two consecutive days—December 20 and 21—owing to elephant movement along the Chakradharpur–Rourkela (CKP–ROU–CKP) rail section.
The precautionary step has been taken to ensure the safety of passengers, wildlife, and railway assets.
According to officials of Indian Railways, the affected stretch passes through forested zones that frequently witness elephant crossings.
Train operations on these routes have therefore been temporarily suspended as a safety measure during the period of animal movement.
The following trains will remain cancelled on both days (Dec 20 and 21):
* 68025 / 68026 – CKP–ROU–CKP MEMU
* 58151 / 58152 – BRMP–BXF–BRMP Passenger
* 68003 / 68004 – TATA–GUA–TATA MEMU
* 68009 / 68010 – TATA–CKP–TATA MEMU
Railway officials have advised passengers to check the latest train running status before travelling and make alternative arrangements where necessary.
Regular updates will be issued based on ground conditions and wildlife movement in coordination with forest authorities.
Normal train services are expected to resume once the route is declared safe for operations.
