Jamshedpur, March 19: The Tatanagar Railway Civil Defence conducted a training session for loco pilots on ambulance services and Basic Life Support at the Electric Loco Pilot Training Centre.
Civil Defence Inspector Santosh Kumar emphasized the importance of interventions during the “Golden Hour”, explaining the proper use of Dial 102 for child and maternal emergencies and Dial 108 for severe accidents or heart attacks. Trainees also learned how to improvise stretchers and safely transport patients to ambulances.
Demonstrators Anil Kumar Singh and Kalyan Kumar Sahu provided hands-on training on fire safety techniques, including extinguishing LPG fires using extinguishers, blankets, and the Trolley Derrick method.
Around 200 Loco Pilots and Assistant Loco Pilots from the Chakradharpur, Ranchi, Adra, and Kharagpur divisions attended the program. Principal Shubhendu Haldar praised the initiative and suggested conducting such sessions four days a month to enhance safety preparedness.
