Jamshedpur, October 7: Digwadih Colliery of the Jharia Division of Tata Steel has bagged the prestigious Hindustan Zinc Health & Safety Award for overall performance for the year 2015-16. The award was given by the Federation of Indian Mineral Industries (FIMI), the premier mining body of the country.
Vikash Kumar, Head, Digwadih Colliery, Tata Steel received the award from Piyush Goyal, Minister for Power, Coal, New & Renewable Energy and Mines, Government of India on October 3, 2016 at the 50th Annual General Meeting of FIMI in New Delhi.
Expressing his happiness on being conferred with the honour, Sanjay Rajoria, GM, Jharia Division, Tata Steel said, �We are honoured to have been recognized for our efforts towards Health & Safety. The company is adopting scientific and efficient mining practices for a sustainable future.
