Jamshedpur: Tata Steel�s Corporate Safety Department organized Manthan, a two day event for contract workers and supervisors starting from today at Steelenium Hall.
The theme of the event is �Value for life�.
The objective behind the event is to understand the causes behind the fatalities and reducing the fatality rate, thus adding value to an individual�s life. The event also aims at understanding various work related risks and hazards from the perspective of the contract workers as well as supervisors.
Shyam Sunder, chief corporate safety, Tata Steel while addressing the audience appreciated the corporate safety department for facilitating a two way communication between the management and workers. He also urged the audience to provide suggestions on safety to the senior management for their consideration and execution to make the Works a safer place.
On the first day of the event, the audience was divided into groups to deliberate on various aspects of Safety and present the respective groups� views. The best group was awarded by Shyam Sunder.
