Tata Steel Family Initiatives Foundation observes World Population Day

Jamshedpur: Tata Steel Family Initiatives Foundation observed World Population Day by felicitating 100 couples from economically under-privileged families, who have adopted temporary methods of family planning. The event took place on July 11, 2018. Sunita Pathak graced the occasion as the chief guest.

Couples were selected from 10 maternal and child health centers being run by Tata Steel Family Initiatives Foundation in and around Jamshedpur.

Sourav Roy, Chief, CSR, Tata Steel; Niloy Mitter, Head, Health & TQM, CSR, Tata Steel were also present during the occasion.

July 11 is observed as World Population Day all over the world for the promotion of crucial issues such as the importance of family planning, including gender equality, poverty, maternal health and human rights.

The observance of this day is a ray of light towards the growth and development in the current time of ever growing population. The day has been celebrated every year since 1989, year of its announcement.
