Jamshedpur: Tata Motors and Tata Cummins plants will remain operational on Sunday, January 25, functioning as on a regular working day, according to official orders issued by the plant management. The decision has been taken in view of the rising market demand for commercial vehicles, officials said.
As per the directive, all divisions, departments, shop floors, and general offices of both Tata Motors and Tata Cummins will remain open on Sunday. Employees at Tata Motors will be provided compensatory leave at a later date instead of working on the weekly holiday.
At Tata Cummins, employees will be entitled to avail a compensatory holiday within 60 days, at their convenience, against the additional workday. Management sources said the move is aimed at maintaining production momentum to meet increasing customer requirements.
However, it has been clarified that January 26 (Republic Day) will be observed as a paid holiday across both organisations, in line with national regulations. The decision reflects the company’s focus on meeting operational targets while ensuring statutory benefits for employees, officials added.
