Jamshedpur: In order to build a strong and deep connection with vendor partners, Tata Motors organised a Vendor Development Programme (VDP) in association with Government of Jharkhand.
The basic objective of this programme was to bring a leading automotive manufacturer Tata Motors and Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) on a common platform where all can get ample scope for interaction and can exchange views among themselves.
Speaking on the occasion, K Ravi Kumar, Director � Industries Jharkhand said �Jharkhand is one of the emerging states contributing to the country�s electronic industry. Electronics manufacturing cluster (EMC) in Adityapuris being developed as a leading electronic cluster with “world-class infrastructure” to attract investments in the electronics sector. There is an immense potential in this cluster where companies can come and set up their units.
Government of Jharkhand has created a focused Industrial and Investment Promotion policy for attracting investment, providing incentives, identifying land for manufacturing clusters etc. Adityapur Industrial Area is known for its auto components units. Government of Jharkhand is committed to give fillip to indigenous manufacturing of electronic products by creating a favorable investor � friendly ecosystem and state � of � the � art infrastructure across the entire value chain of Electronics sector�
Sampath Kumar, Head Jamshedpur Plant, Tata Motors Ltd. said, �It gives us immense pleasure to be associated with the Government of Jharkhand for such a unique project. It opens door for a lot of opportunities not only for Tata Motors but also for all the SMEs. This will make the process smoother and will also help in creating a robust ecosystem of the suppliers.�
There is unprecedented expansion in the activities of units of Adityapur Industrial Area over the period. The members of Adityapur Industrial Area have shown keen interest to expand their activities in the areas of electronic products as it has an immense potential.
More than 100 delegates attended the session across a wide array of sectors.
