Jamshedpur, August 10: Tata Motors has introduced two new educational funding programs, ‘Vidyadhan’ and ‘Utkarsh’, aimed at supporting the higher education of their technicians’ children. The schemes, set to launch on August 12, will be available to employees of the Jamshedpur plant.
The ‘Vidyadhan’ program offers concessional loans of up to Rs 7.5 lakh for children who have passed 10th and 12th grades, covering up to 95% of domestic education fees or 85% of international education fees. In collaboration with the State Bank of India (SBI), Tata Motors will subsidize interest rates, offering a 50% reduction for boys and a 70% reduction for girls, transgender, and specially-abled children.
The ‘Utkarsh’ scheme provides an additional annual scholarship of Rs 25,000 for girls, transgender, and specially-abled children pursuing higher education after 10th or 12th grade, with a minimum 60% score requirement.
Tata Motors Workers Union President Gurmeet Singh and General Secretary RK Singh expressed their support, stating that these initiatives will significantly aid employees’ children in accessing higher education.
“These initiatives will significantly boost our employees’ children’s access to higher education,” stated Gurmeet Singh, President, and RK Singh, General Secretary of the Tata Motors Workers Union. “Both schemes represent a valuable opportunity for our workforce’s families to pursue advanced academic goals.”
Application forms will be available through the company’s ER officers, with bank officials available daily at the establishment to assist with the process. Eligible students must be enrolled in full-time undergraduate or postgraduate courses of at least two years’ duration at recognized institutions in India or abroad.
