Jamshedpur: A brazen attempt to kidnap Dr. B Pradhan, an ENT specialist, unfolded near the Golmuri roundabout under Golmuri police station on Tuesday evening. The doctor’s quick thinking and loud alarm foiled the abduction as the two assailants fled the scene. However, alert locals chased down the criminals, apprehending them and recovering a country-made pistol along with four bullets from one of the culprits.
Dr. Pradhan, who practices at Gulshan Medical in Golmuri, recounted the incident, stating that as he was leaving the clinic late in the evening and heading to his car, a young man approached, inquiring about parking on the roadside. Ignoring the individual, Dr. Pradhan proceeded to enter his car, only to be ambushed by the young man who grabbed his throat. Simultaneously, another accomplice entered the vehicle.
Raising an alarm proved to be the turning point, prompting the miscreants to flee. The local community responded swiftly, chasing down and capturing both individuals. The police were alerted and arrived at the scene, taking the suspects into custody. The arrested individuals, claiming to be residents of Begusarai, are currently under interrogation.
The recovery of a weapon adds a significant dimension to the investigation, and authorities are diligently probing the incident to unravel the motive and any potential accomplices involved in this attempted kidnapping.
