Suhani from NML Kerala Public School wins debate competition at Tata Zoo

Jamshedpur, October 3: The Wildlife Week celebrations 2024 at Tata Steel Zoological Park featured an Inter-school Debate Competition on its second day, where Suhani from NML Kerala Public School emerged as the winner. The debate, held in both Hindi and English, challenged students to discuss the topic: “Environment vs. Development: Is it right to develop at the cost of the environment?”

The competition saw participation from 19 students representing six different schools. Prizes were awarded by esteemed judges Dr. Sanjay Kumar Mahato, Curator of Tata Zoo, and Mohammad Nayeem.

Results of the Debate Competition:

  • 1st Place: Suhani (NML Kerala Public School)
  • 2nd Place: Atul Kumar Singh (Motilal Nehru Public School)
  • 3rd Place: Shristy Kumari (Kerala Public School Kadma)
  • Consolation Prizes: Rishabh Mukherjee (Kerala Public School Kadma), Unnati (Motilal Nehru Public School)

The Wildlife Conservation Awareness Week 2024 will continue with several upcoming events, including an On-the-Spot Essay Writing Competition on October 4, a Fancy Dress Competition on October 5 at the zoo’s main lawn, and an On-the-Spot Painting Competition for primary and junior categories, culminating in a closing ceremony on October 6, 2024.
