Jamshedpur: The East Singhbhum District Congress Committee honored Sudha Gupta, the newly elected Mayor of Mango Municipal Corporation, during a ceremony at Tilak Pustakalaya in Bistupur. District Congress President Parvinder Singh presided over the event, which drew several senior leaders and party workers.
Key Highlights and Leadership
State In-charge K. Raju attended as the Chief Guest. A prominent lineup of leaders—including State President Kamlesh Kumar Mahto, former Minister Banna Gupta, and District Observer Baljit Singh Bedi—welcomed and felicitated the new Mayor.
While addressing the crowd, K. Raju praised the victory as a result of effective management and tireless work by party members. He credited Banna Gupta for his pivotal role in the campaign and noted that voters chose development over caste or religious divisions.
Internal Discussions and Discipline
During the session, party workers shared details of their outreach efforts but also voiced concerns regarding internal dissent. They alleged that certain leaders worked against the party and demanded disciplinary action. In response, the Chief Guest warned that the party would not tolerate actions that violate its policies.
Celebrating Ward Councillors
The committee also presented mementos to the newly elected Ward Councillors from Mango. The State and District leadership congratulated the winners and thanked the supporters who drove the party’s success.
A large delegation of party members, including Vijay Yadav, Paritosh Singh, and over 40 other local leaders, attended to show their support for the new administration.
